Halloween – Crime Prevention and Community Safety Advice |

|
Dear residents,
Halloween is just around the corner! Whilst out on patrol, our local Safer Neighbourhood Team spotted this creative Halloween decoration, a reminder that the spooky season is approaching.🎃👻
As residents prepare for Halloween, we would like to remind everyone to celebrate safely and be considerate of others in the community. Trick-or-Treating Safety Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Stay in groups and use well-lit routes. Only visit homes where trick-or-treaters are welcome. Respect residents who do not wish to participate. Take extra care when crossing roads after dark. Advice for Residents Keep doors and windows securely locked. Do not feel pressured to open your door to unexpected visitors. Display a ‘No Trick or Treaters’ sign if you do not wish to participate. Look out for elderly and vulnerable neighbours. Anti-Social Behaviour Halloween is not an excuse for anti-social behaviour. Throwing eggs, damaging property or intimidating residents is unacceptable and may constitute a criminal offence. Keep noise levels reasonable and respect other people’s property. Parents and guardians are encouraged to remind children to behave responsibly. Reporting Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour If you witness criminal activity or anti-social behaviour, please report it: 999 – In an emergency or if a crime is in progress. 101 – For non-emergency incidents. Online: www.met.police.uk We hope everyone enjoys a safe and enjoyable Halloween while respecting others in our community.
